Surprise!

Hi, guys, did you miss me?  I have bad news and I have good news.  The bad news is that the illness that was kicking my ass back in October?  Yeah, it’s still kicking my ass.  The surgery went without a hitch, but it also didn’t help the situation (in some ways, things got worse).  I’m going to a specialist now, and he’s wonderful; I’m hopeful that things will improve very soon.

The good news is that this specialist has given me some new meds that are HELPING!  Who’d have thought it possible?!?  And my favorite part:  no narcotic (honestly, I don’t know how people can get hooked on that sh**; vomiting, sleeping constantly and terminal brain-fog are not my idea of a fun way to spend the day).  The meds are not solving the problem (since we still don’t know what the problem is), but they are stopping the pain.  The practical upshot is that I am becoming functional again.

Why does this matter to you, my loyal readers?  Because it means I am strong enough to blog again!  And the urge is driving me crazy; it’s all I can think about!  I have made good use of my convalescence to read all the Steampunk, Dieselpunk and New Pulp books in my To Be Read pile, and having a few movie/YouTube binges in our beloved genres.  Now it’s time for me to get back in the game!

Not gonna start today.  I gotta get back up to speed. But be watching this space on Monday.  New fiction, new reviews and discussions, new Fun Fridays will be coming your way.  There will still be the occasional interruption as the doctor and I try to kick some medical ass on whatever is making me sick.  But I’m seriously hoping we’re past the “bed-fast invalid” routine; it was getting so tired.

Watch for me on Monday!
